Integrating Faith & Finances

In our general culture and within the financial services industry the idea of integrating our personal faith with our personal finances is unconventional. For clients who are drawn to this concept, we are committed to helping them to explore the teachings of their faith and to consider how their lifetime plans and estate plans can reflect their faith.

One of the most interesting things that we have learned is that the most reliable and rewarding wealth management strategies that our advisors have employed are actually based on timeless wisdom found in Holy Scripture that is 2,000 to 3,000 years old. Just a few examples include:

  • Spend less than you earn
    Proverbs 21:20
  • Build liquidity
    Proverbs 6:6-8
  • Diversify your investments
    Ecclesiastes 11:2
  • Pay your taxes and debts with integrity
    Romans 13:5-8, Proverbs 22:7
  • Give generously
    1 Corinthians 16:2
  • Get counsel
    Proverbs 11:14, Proverbs 15:22
  • Make long term plans (great plans)
    Proverbs 21:5, Philippians 3:14

We’ve been encouraged and enlightened by our involvement with Truth @ Work and with Kingdom Advisors. We have come to understand that an important aspect of our personal stewardship is to help our clients with their stewardship. We’ve also come to understand that we have an opportunity to help our clients better integrate their personal faith and their personal finances.
